Damage from fires at Wildberries warehouses could exceed 50 billion rubles ($640 million) — EZh

According to eyewitness reports, the company's logistics center in Elektrostal is almost completely destroyed by fire. This is one of Wildberries' largest warehouses, with an area more than twice that of the Shushary warehouse near St. Petersburg, which burned down in January 2024.

After the Shushary fire, Wildberries estimated direct damage at 10 billion rubles ($128 million); subsequently, the marketplace paid sellers compensation totaling 34.9 billion rubles ($447 million). Many sellers stated that the payments received did not even cover half of the losses incurred.

Against the backdrop of the new fire in Elektrostal, the ignition at the Kotovsk warehouse, and the rising costs of goods and logistics, the total damage to the company and its partners, according to unofficial estimates, could reach 100 billion rubles ($1.28 billion).
