Sparkles Sparkles Everywhere! Luna’s shoes (or maybe shoes and lower legs, at least in some shots) and peytral have sparkles. I don’t recall noticing this effect ever used on Celestia, or Nightmare Moon. I like it, I forgot about it, and I wonder if it was something that was used again or one of those earlier season things that was used once or twice and dropped. Also, in the NayChildrenWait video clip, it almost looks like it is using the sparkles from her mane on her hooves. I am uncertain if it is a separate grouping of sparkles (this would make more sense from what little I know of flash animation) or if for some reason they brought some of the mane sparkles for that effect on her hoof for that moment? Not all scenes with Luna have her hooves with sparkles I will note.
Luna’s Design Faust did comment on Luna’s new design and her smaller size, said that in her head, Luna was not yet fully grown, though considered that to be not established in the show. I don’t see much art of Princess Luna as a fully grown alicorn that isn’t Nightmare Moon but I’d like to see that concept explored some. She didn't have a headcanon explanation for Luna's change from Season 1 to Season 2, but did offer how she would explain it. My favorite idea for Princess Luna is her waxing and waning with the moon, but as far as canon compliant ideas her being weakened after Nightmare Moon probably makes the most sense.
Luna Can Shapeshift? And speaking of concepts I’d like to see explored some. LUNA CAN SHAPESHIFT! She could do this as Nightmare Moon, but it’s interesting to see this being a full natural power of hers. I’m surprised it isn’t used in the fandom more often. In fact, the main conversation I can recall this ever being brought up was someone mentioning he saw it rarely in fanfiction! Maybe that has changed as I have been under a rock for several years but c’mon, you would think with the changelings existing in this setting it would be relevant.
