I have been a bit confused and conflicted at this episode as well. I personally loved all the jokes and such, but it does raise some questions. I can see those who say it feels like a waste. It felt like a B plot from an earlier season in many ways. It wasn't necessarily bad, but there is a certain group of student ponies with a yak that seems like a waste to focus on just Pinkie Pie. It does make ya wonder a little how there going to jungle everything around.

A question I personally raise: does every episode have to be in service of something else now? Some new location, character development, ect. Or is it alright to have little semi-pointless episodes like this now and again, because this episode was a charming one that's for sure. Is it a disservice for them to make an episode like this with all the plot points they have? The legends, the Student 6, the school, while still having to put in as much fanservice for a bunch of backgroud characters. Also Dolores is still a thing. And the tree of harmony. And the Princesses There is a lot of lose threads to jungle around and I can see those who hate the episode from what little it brings to the table amist all this chaos that is our little horse show. Yet honestly I can't hate it for that. I like little charming episodes like this. Though I ca understand the perspective and I think that is a partial driving force to some of the people who hate it.

Though how was it as a episode? That is the most fair way to judge it. Personally I loved the jokes. I LOL'd a couple of times even. Not the funiest episode out there but I liked it a lot. I think though the motivations themselves are what are a little wonky. You'd could argue that Pinkie Pie had an extreme overreaction especially considering that many ponies have acted annoyed before with all her antics. Yet being told by one of her friends so directly I would honestly understand cutting deep, but I still feel a bit conflicted over how extreme she ultimately acted. It seemed like a lot in service for a little.
