A Rockhoof and a Hard Place

Alright Gallus: "We never ever get homework, but we like stories..." uh, I wish I lived like that. Also, I wouldn´t be surprised that Yona invited Rockhoof to Yakyakistan and smash random things altogether.
I think Rockhoof likes telling stories with so much....action, a bit too much I guess. He would be a neat content creator in any chan and write some greens...or Stygian I don´t know. The entertainment is guaranteed with him. The hippogriffs sure have had some inspiration from the Royal Navy, isn´t it?

Anyway, I thought Rockhoof was the least interesting of the pillars, mostly because he is just reduced to some strength and felt like the least inspiring story out of the 3 in Campfire Tales. What collided his stereotypical character was that....he is the only one who hasn´t found its purpose on modern times. Trying to be a postman, a massager, a sea wolf or using his strength for carring on things....just didn´t work, although that didn´t prevent from having the funniest moments out of these episodes. Also, I would like to mention that all these episodes I am reviewing have that blend between humor and deep message so effortlessly, especially On the Road to Friendship and this one in which I have had some genuine laughs.

Now, on the other hoof, it hurts to see that you feel like shit when you realize that you don´t belong in any place and how the other ones who stayed with you have managed to adapt themselves and even shine in modern times. And because of that lack of identity, objectives or constant failures, you feel like a living statue, feeling like you don´t shouldn´t exist.

Many teenagers or people who are going to commit suicide and fail to look for jobs, are miserable for their families reach these depressing mind states because they don´t know what they can do nor offer to this world while others are succeeding in front of your eyes.

This is the closest genuine episode of expecting one thing and watching a very different result, as with Surf and Or Turf or No Second Prances, you expect a tough stallion doing these things and he does but that lack of personal force to move forward and feel at home like your old glory days, don´t fit anymore and he cannot help but feel empty.

That moment of desiring to be a statue seems like an analogy for catching the rope and hold your neck into it. While this episode has had its funny moments and it seemed like a light hearted one, the message sure feels powerful the more you think about it. Thankfully enough, Yona served to make him see the light at the end of the tunnel and feel like you are important despite your own personal pessimism.

Top 5 of the season? I don´t know but it surely beat my expectations about him, the writers have gone through the psychological side for this story and I´ve got to admit that I cannot help but appreciating these kind of stories a lot.
