It's piss poor easy to do with editing HTML. Somewhat harder with graphic editors, but still manageable, especially when you don't have to resize elements.
Now, most of mobile browsers that I know of don't have the HTML editing capability, but that can be remedied either by for example hooking Chrome to Remote Debugging, or proxying internet traffic through your computer (to serve modified HTML file) and spoofing DNS so the domain name remains unchanged (nobody takes screenshots with SSL key fingerprint in view, though stil nothing prevents you from even going as far as forging this as well [spoiler]I'm positive it's possible for such purposes[/spoier]).

>Version 1.0 of the CAPTCHA
Rest in Peace Legacy CAPTCHA, I miss it every day. The new v2.0 is complete fucking garbage, sometimes even blocking you completely if you send too much requests (rerolling to get easier CAPTCHA).
Still, the even older version (reCAPTCHA, before Google era) was the best. You only had to type a single word, and second could be whatever.

Overall, nice story, You really were lucky on that one. Thank You for letting Celestia take the spotlight, and saving /mlp/ from another EqG scripted GET. I wouldn't focus so much on the proving the authenticity part You know how they say only a guilty does the explaining? ^:), and more on just telling an awesome story. Obsessing over establishing ownership of milestone posts (or even just regular posts) is kind of not the point of imageboards, at least in my opinion. If posts were made to be tracked, they would not be anonymous, they would contain some sort of signature, a link to the owner. What I get from anonymous imageboards, at least in the ideological sense, is that there's an implicit agreement that author of the post matters not, just the content thereof. Many anons tend to forget that nowadays. And here I post those exact words while breaking the aforementioned anonymity contract. Kinda ironic, although not quite, because somewhat different factors are at play here

Look up gambler's fallacy.

>there are imageboards dedicated completely on using the GET tracker which suck out completely the fun and spontaneity of them
I don't know. It only adds up to competition, right? The more sought the treasure, the bigger prize the winner reaps, is it not?
