The transition period probably ended around 2015, and ponies outlived that barrier. While it's true that increasing availability of everything during that period helped foster pony fandom, but precisely that scarcity, reduced availability and the increased creativity required to work around that and the true wild west is paradoxically what I would want to see out of the whole ordeal.

It's unsurprising that when things go well, one does not want change. But should things go south, that point of view takes a 180 degree turn.
