Knowing something is true and having evidence are totally different. If "we are the news," then our goal is to seek evidence, so we can clearly demonstrate the truth.

If we could show that Brennan was being supported by, say, a Soros-based group (or ANY groups or individual who is anti-Trump, anti-conservative), it would strip away much of hotwheels' credibility. It could be financial support but even other kinds of support (like flattery, egging him on to seek revenge) would be noteworthy. The headline is very different.
