This is very tinfoil, but one of the brainstorms I've been pondering is that some of us are not actually human, in the normal natural sense. But created by man, and implanted with a programming, that a few have somehow rejected and found truth, through an unforeseen loophole in free will. Free will is a fundamental requirement of making a person, unfortunately for those who would try. Versus a robotic clone droid, or any other non-human living things like animals, which are alive and think, but are not human.

Ironically, and like a page from an epic movie, it may be these few self-aware neo-slaves, created by the system, who unexpectedly rejected their programming and help take down the entire system that created them. I suspect this could be what autism really is - an experiment on humans that is so extreme and uncharted that the results are unpredictable. A condition that only started being reported in the last 100 years, and is increasing exponentially now as the science and funding increased. And why Q made a plan to use the few thousand highly functional autists, who randomly received genius instead of retardation, in his plan to save the world.

BTW, in case you need to watch the Matrix series again - Neo was the most advanced human-like program that was created, under the expertise of the Architect and the Oracle - the 6th iteration of an entity that existed both inside the deception of the matrix and "in the real". Designed (by the architect) to fulfill the purpose of satisfying the rebellion against the system from random outliers. But surreptitiously used (by the oracle and a handful inside the system) to end the abuse of the system.
