I'm into the work of Graham Hancock, about an ancient cataclysm that changed the world and rebooted civilization. It would fit with some kind of change agent from the heavens, whether that's an outburst from the sun, or close passage of heavenly bodies or even a meteor.

There's just too much consistency in myths and legends from too many disparate tribes and groups for it to not be true in some part.

But that's intriguing reading the myths with planets as the gods and astronomical events. It makes sense with the Sumerian stuff, about the dual solar system with ours that comes back every 27k years or so. Yet another reason why I love this place
