We need secure networking to deliver media content safely - especially virtual or 360 content - the star trek holo deck is here but there's no deck. Anons can wear a head set with the form factor of glasses that projects the image onto the foveal surface at resolution beyond the eye's capacity to resolve.
Such a device was demonstrated at the last Photonics convention.

There is no way to safely use such on an insecure network where anyone can access a stream going straight into our brains.

Look at how damaged we are by conventional, legacy media lies. Virtual realities potentiate the danger by orders of magnitude.

None of the technology that will help us in the future is safe or managable on a corrupt network - it's too easy to fuck up important things - like our brains.

If we want to grow up and think like adults we need to be sure our news and entertainment media is 'clean' and not packed with subliminal, sub sonics and legacy media social engineering and subversion.
