Two court judgments with legal and political implications were handed down in two of South Africa's senior courts yesterday.

__The Supreme Court of Appeal has upheld the December 2021 decision of the Pretoria High Court, which overturned former President Jacob Zuma's medical parole. The SCA ruled that former Department of Correctional Services Commissioner, Arthur Fraser was not supposed to overrule the parole board, and the SCA ruled that Zuma must return to prison. In another judgment, the Constitutional Court has granted Janusz Walus, medical parole. Walus is the surviving member of the duo that killed SACP leader Chris Hani. Handing down his judgment, Chief Justice Raymond Zondo said Walus has complied with all the requirements.
