Governor Glenn Youngkin of Virginia (R.) has blocked the construction of an electric car battery plant that he said was "a front for China." This is a huge loss for Democrats. The plant was ostensibly owned by the Ford Motor Company, but it was to be run by a Chinese company, Contemporary Amperex Technology, who also *would have owned* "the technology used in building the battery cells," according to the Virginia Mercury. Governor Youngkin said Wednesday that he'd halted plans to build the factory.
"We welcome and encourage economic cooperation with international companies," the governor said, but "'Made in Virginia' cannot be a front for the CCP"
Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s (R) removal of Virginia from consideration for Ford Motor Co.’s new battery plant has come under fire from Democrats, who say that the factory would have created many jobs in the state while questioning whether the national security concern over the automaker’s China-based partner was legitimate.

(CATL) to supply batteries for Ford’s electric vehicles would qualify CATL to receive lucrative production tax benefits under the new Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), according to a Bloomberg report. The report said that would be made possible with the deal-making Ford as the plant’s 100 percent owner, while CATL would own the technology and operate the facility.
So the fucking chinks dont have to pay taxes under the inflation reduction act- no wonder democrats are pissed they gonna get called by their chink owners. (Import chinese labor to work in that factory?)
