Small Island Developing States: A Just and Equitable Energy Transition Towards a Climate-Resilient Future: Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are prioritizing a just and equitable energy transition as a vital element of climate action and sustainable development. Their survival is hinged on international support to scale up renewable energy and energy efficiency including tailor-made financing, technical assistance, capacity building and technology transfer. This high-level event will showcase SIDS' achievements, progress and impacts of their energy transition efforts. It will also address strategies for holistic decarbonization, financing, and regulatory frameworks. The event will gather SIDS' perspectives on the Loss and Damage Fund's operationalization and set the priorities for the SIDS LHI 3.0 launch in 2024. - 2023 UN Climate Change Conference, United Arab Emirates (UNFCCC COP 28)
