President Trump with Coronavirus Task Force Briefing
President Trump held a news conference to provide an update on the coronavirus outbreak. Joining him at the podium were Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar; Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; Center for Disease Control Deputy Director Dr. Anne Schuchat; and Vice President Mike Pence, who was named as the point person for the U.S. government regarding the coronavirus. While taking questions from the press, the president was asked to respond to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) who said in an earlier statement that the president does not know what he is doing regarding the coronavirus, for which he said "she is trying to create a panic."
