DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - Hi Mr. Adams,
When I was a teenager, there were a few books I read over and over. I went through the Terry Goodkind series dozens of times, and it ended up influencing a lot of my politics. Your seven-year anthology was another one I returned to constantly, I must've read it a hundred times. I even remember your lesser-known characters like Bob the Dinosaur.
I never imagined I'd have the chance to interact directly with the author all these years later.
I'm truly sorry you're going through this pain, and I'm glad to hear you’ve found some relief. Please know that every day you are here, continues to be a gift to those of us who were shaped by your work. I'm keeping you in my prayers every day.

DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - Thune and the Senate Republicans voted to override the parliamentarian on May 21, 2025 to repeal California's EV mandate.

DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - What this means is that the parliamentarian was never an obstacle to passing the Big Beautiful Bill. Just two months ago, Thune overrode that same parliamentarian on a different bill.
The parliamentarian is a mere scapegoat.

DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - University waste has been one of my top requests from readers to investigate.
This is the third and final article in @thecentersquare series investigating waste in universities. This was my first time collaborating with a published outlet - a lot of fun.
The first two articles examined how research grants, despite their intended purpose, end up driving up operating costs. But a deeper problem lies in how these grants are allocated: they're politically motivated, which distort research agendas and outcomes. They also create a system where people chase funding rather than pursue knowledge.
