Mambo Italiano @mamboitaliano__ - ‼ This is the result of my personal research into the course of justice following the 2013 tragedy at the Kiss nightclub in Brazil, marked by the same horrific dynamics as the Crans-Montana fire ‼
13 years after the Kiss tragedy
Justice is slowly dissolving
January 27, 2013
A nightclub fire in Santa Maria, Brazil, kills 242 young people and injures more than 600
Fireworks on stage, flammable foam on the ceiling, overcrowding, a single exit
A celebration turns into a death trap
In 2021, after eight full years spent free while awaiting trial, those responsible are finally sentenced to 18–22 years in prison
In 2022, the verdict is incredibly annulled!
In 2024, prison doors briefly close again
In 2025, sentences are reduced to 11–12 years
January 2026:
All are now serving their sentences under semi-open or open regimes
One is already home, wearing an electronic ankle monitor
The others are allowed to leave prison daily to work
Thirteen years of appeals, delays, and sentence reductions
