Tulane professor Blake Gilpin discussed three Reconstruction-era Supreme Court cases - The Slaughter-House Cases (1873), United States v. Cruikshank (1874), & Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) - and how they led to the establishment of Jim Crow segregation. Tulane University is located in New Orleans.

The Presidency: Sarah Miller, "Hick - The Trailblazing Journalist Who Captured Eleanor Roosevelt's Heart". Author Sarah Miller, who read the more than 3,000 letters between journalist Lorena "Hick" Hickok and first lady Eleanor Roosevelt, discussed the two women's personal and working relationship. She spoke at the 2025 Roosevelt Reading Festival in Hyde Park, New York. The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum hosted this event.
