White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - addiction event continues
In-town pool report No. 10 - addiction event continues
"Kathryn and I share the experience of having been addicted and in long term recovery," RFK said.
He turned to Steve Witkoff and spoke about him losing his son Andrew from addiction - and mentioned the president's family history as well.
"And I saw his wife yesterday and she confirmed he's doing a great job," Trump said of Cheryl Hines, wife of RFK. (She's not in attendance)
Kathryn Burgum gave accolades to Melania Trump for focusing on addiction during the first term. She referenced Susie Wiles' father and the Trump family.
She spoke of being a "blackout" drinker and becoming suicidal because she couldn't get sober - until she did.
"I'm going to give this to you, and you can figure out what to do with Bobby," he told Kathryn giving her the EO.
Witkoff then started talking about losing Andrew.
His eyes got a little red when talking about losing his son.
Trump repeated that "Russia's not doing any shooting."
"I can say that I'm extremely late," Trump said, noting the Melania premiere. He then asked others in the room to speak.
