Tim Anderson @AssocAnderson - Something strange happened. A lot of Republican bills died on the floor today. Bills that had unanimous or near unanimous support in committees - got to the floor and were killed. This is called a line 5 problem. Line 5 is the name (and party) of the patron.
So what happened ? Whose feelings got hurt ? I went back and watched all the committee hearings today. I found this.
An exchange between Del Griffin (R) and Del Price (D) where Griffin tried to talk about protecting the unborn and got silenced by Price.
Is it because of that less than 1 minute exchange that Dems are killing bills on the floor dealing with expanding a pharmacy board by 1 member?
I can’t be for sure — but I’ve been there and one thing I can tell you is that Democrats will scorch earth when their feelings get hurt.
This is how the government is run. Good bills that everyone agreed were good bills with GOP patrons, that would help make Virginia better - are dead - because someone’s corn flakes got pi$$ed in talking about protecting babies.
