WWII Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds will posthumously receive the Medal of Honor.
Held captive in a German POW camp, MSG Edmonds had a gun pointed at his head by a Nazi officer commanding the devote Christian to have the Jewish American troops fall-out separately. Witnesses reported MSG Edmonds defiantly said, “We are all Jews here!” The Nazi officer backed down and the courage MSG Edmonds showed in the face of death is credited with saving the lives of almost 200 fellow American soldiers.
