Kaeley Triller @KaeleyT - Earlier this week, I posted about a poor Iranian teen girl who was executed for "crimes against chastity" after being repeatedly raped by a 51-year-old. The post went viral. I did not expect that.
Since that time, my inbox has been a steady stream of angry comments from Islamic men.
This morning, one of them demanded to know the age at which I lost my virginity. He also insisted on knowing whether I had sex with men or with women.
In this man's culture, this is a perfectly reasonable line of questioning toward a stranger. My answers, in his mind, would determine my value in the universe.
I essentially told him to go fly a kite.
I hate this culture. I don't have to like it. It's evil.
It's not just evil because I'm an American. It's evil because I'm a human.
And yes, I also vocally oppose the lesser forms of this nonsense in Christian purity culture.
