>>178469U.S. Navy @USNavy - Arctic nights. Northern lights.
The northern lights appear over Ice Camp Boarfish during Operation ICE CAMP 2026.
Sailors assigned to Virginia-class fast-attack submarine USS Delaware (SSN 791) remove ice from the sail after an arctic surfacing.
USS Delaware Sailors stand topside.
ICE CAMP Boarfish is a three-week operation designed to research, test, and evaluate operational capabilities in the Arctic region. In addition to U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and Air National Guard, ICE CAMP brings together personnel from Australia, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Japan.
Held biennially, ICE CAMP partners with the Arctic Submarine Laboratory and was elevated from an exercise to an operation to better reflect the Navy’s strategic priorities in the Arctic. ICE CAMP provides the necessary training to maintain a working knowledge of a constantly changing region.

"To secure the U.S. Southern border, USNORTHCOM established Joint Task Force Southern-Border in March of 2025. Over the past year, JTF-SB has supported Customs and Border Protection partners with unique military capabilities in all domains that have helped reduce illegal border activities to historic lows."
