Reel America: Space Shuttle - A Remarkable Flying Machine. This NASA film documented the first flight of a space shuttle. Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-1) was launched on April 12, 1981, from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Reel America is an American History TV series featuring 20th century archival films.

Pres. Reagan Address on 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger Explosion. On January 28th, 1986, President Reagan addressed the nation following the loss of the Space Shuttle Challenger. Earlier that day, the Challenger exploded 73 seconds after liftoff, killing all seven crew members.
