Andy Ngo @MrAndyNgo - A federal jury in Portland, Ore. has convicted an illegal migrant from Honduras who sold fentanyl that killed a 29-year-old Portlander.
Prosecutors said Hugo Gomez-Soto sold fentanyl powder and counterfeit pills to the victim, who died the next day despite Narcan. Arrested in January 2024 with more fentanyl, he was later federally indicted. Gomez-Soto faces up to life in prison and is scheduled for sentencing on July 10, 2026.
