First Lady Melania Trump will join bipartisan lawmakers on Capitol Hill to advance her second major legislative initiative of this administration protecting America’s Foster Care children at a House Ways and Means Committee Roundtable Discussion on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

Mrs. Trump is advancing the next phase of her legislative agenda to empower America’s children, following the enactment of the TAKE IT DOWN Act—now federal law with its first conviction already secured—and her Fostering the Future Executive Order.
First Lady Melania Trump and Congress are working to find solutions to a myriad of challenges that impact foster care individuals. These issues include barriers to education and educational advocacy, housing, employment opportunities, financial independence, and technology.
