Weapons Daily @WeaponsVault - Chopped down RPD's used by MACV-SOG operators during the Vietnam war.
"Chopped" RPDs were modified versions of the RPD machine gun used by operators during the Vietnam War. They would remove the bipod, and cut down the barrel to make it lighter and easier to handle in jungle raids. Chambered in 7.62x39, it could also use captured enemy ammo, making it especially useful on deep recon missions.
