JB and family @SimmonsBart - Every morning before sunrise, we get up together, brew a fresh pot of coffee, sit and talk, and read our Bibles. As I get ready for work, my wife begins her work with a grateful heart and bakes eight loaves of sourdough bread using a 100-year-old starter. The night before, she stretches and folds the dough by hand. This is our traditiona simple, faithful rhythm that reminds us every day of Gods faithful provisions. She does it for our thirteen grandchildren, our dear friends, and the customers who count on her bread. Occasionally she makes a batch of buttermilk sourdough biscuits from my grandmothers old recipe, and every warm bite feels like a blessing straight from the Lord.
Some folks will read this and roll their eyes, calling it archaic or chauvinistic, but they dont know my wife. Shes college-educated with a degree in accounting, a successful business owner, a seasoned bridge player, well-read, and she can still saddle her own horse and ride with the best of them. This is simply who we aregrateful, grounded, and blessed.

Julie @JulieLovesFluff - What in the world is going on with electricity rates in Tennessee? We pay my biological mom's electric bill on her one bedroom apartment because she's on a fixed income and it's been slowly climbing over the last 3 years to the point it's gone from $200/month to now $700/month. She has one little window a/c unit and uses the communal laundry room so she's not even running a dryer or anything. Her usage hasn't gone up according to the bill, but between rate increases, taxes and fees it's gotten out of hand. We also live in a high energy cost state (MI) but our 2,000+ sq ft house is costing us less than her 500ft² apartment, this is wild. I asked my sister who lived in the same town if that was normal and she said the electric bill on her house is $1800+/month which is more than her mortgage! Tennessee what are you doing?!
