During a dive to Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, nearly 36,000 feet below sea level, oceanographer Dr. Dawn Wright spotted what appeared to be a beer bottle drifting through the darkness.

2. Was happy to have received an apple upon return to earth.
3. Spent 17 years at the National Zoo after retirement from the space program.
4. Has a grave where some of his remains were buried at the Space Hall of Fame.
