I served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and I am proud of it.

A few misplaced words "in" instead of "during" - totally unintentional.
I speak routinely about my service during the Vietnam Era to highlight that we dishonored and disrespected our military men and women and our veterans during that period, and we must do better now.
We have learned an important lesson since those years and it's the lesson that I highlight again and again and again and mentioned my own service as a means of doing it.
That we owe our military men and women unconditional support when they are in the service and when they come back to civilian life.
And I have mentioned my own military service with that message in mind - and it's a message that has become all the more important.
