Seinfeldism @Seinfeldism1 - Rest in Peace to Donald Gibb, the legendary “Ogre” from “Revenge of the Nerds”, and the 6’4” former college athlete, San Diego Chargers hopeful, who passed away at the age of 71. He played so many tough guys over the years, and was even included in a lesser known appearance as the letter “S” in a row of New Jersey Devils fans in “Seinfeld.”
From the moment he stepped on screen as the lovable, beer-chugging, nerd-terrifying Frederick “Ogre” Palowaski in “Revenge of the Nerds”, Don became an ’80s icon. He brought that same larger-than-life presence to “Bloodsport” as Ray “Tiny” Jackson, lit up HBO’s “1st & Ten” as Leslie “Dr. Death” Krunchner, and left his mark with that unmistakable gravelly voice and commanding presence in projects like "U.S. Marshals," and "Hancock."
On camera he was the ultimate tough guy. Off camera, he was a devoted husband, proud father, and a man who loved his fans, his faith, and his friends. A big man with an even bigger heart.
