Senate unanimously passed legislation tonight to prevent future shark attacks by codifying shark attacks as events eligible for Wireless Emergency Alerts like those used for Amber Alerts and extreme weather notifications. Lulu's Law by Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) honors 16-year old Lulu Gribbin of Mountain Brook, Alabama, who survived a near-fatal shark attack in June 2024 in Florida. Bill now heads to the House.
