The Economist newspaper: On June 3, 2026, @DataRepublican identified Shashank Joshi as an Indian national who arrived in Washington in April and has already become one of the loudest critics of the Pentagon on social media.
The Economist's new Washington Bureau Chief — an Indian national on a visa who reportedly arrived in April — also appeared on a Canadian national security podcast titled "The Problem of America," where he made comments about U.S. military operations.
I did some digging of my own and found that The Economist has received more than $30 million in U.S. taxpayer-funded contracts and grants, including over $17 million from the Department of War.
Maybe it's time for the government to cut them off completely.

DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - I of course support a limited government, but if your actual hidden question is whether I'm willing to disengage from all battles and vote only for isolationists and purists, then adamantly not.

And what's your stance on our Bill of Rights?
Both parties are taking us to a place where it doesn't exist.
