White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - Travel pool # 13 - POTUS leaving for cultural performance
In reverse chron order (most recent first):
Trump walked out to the deck at 7:47pm local. He grabbed Indian PM Modi’s arm as he stepped up to the platform for the photo.
Macron and his wife Brigitte stood next to him on the other side.
The leaders all posted for a picture. Macron said "parfait!" when it was complete.
Trump shook hands and spoke with the leaders of South Korea and Kenya in the way back into the venue.
Spotted at the indoor reception behind the glass:
German Chancellor Merz, UK PM Keir Starmer, Canadian PM Mark Carney, Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi, Brazilian President Lula da Silva, Italian PM Giorgia Meloni, Indian PM Narendra Modi, Kenyan President William Ruto and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump just arrived a moment ago as of7:35pmlocal.
The doors are open and leaders are filing out.
Our shot is out on POOL 6 from the site of the cultural performance.
There is a large deck and behind glass, some of the leaders can be seen mingling in an indoor reception. I can see Merz, Starmer, Carney, Lula but do not see President Trump.
We expect the leaders to come out to the deck for a family photo.
After this, the last scheduled event is the dinner, which is also closed press.
