Your pooler was not able to be in the room for the working lunch with G7 leaders & Middle East leaders.
Rundown below courtesy of Sarah Dean, who was present:
President Trump was seen chatting with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as we entered and then stood off to the side behind his chair for a while.
German Chancellor Merz then came over and chatted with him. They were joined by Canadian Prime Minister Carney.
Then Carney left and Italian Prime Minister Meloni joined, as did European Council President Antonia Costa.
The four of them Trump, Merz, Costa and Meloni chatted for a bit.
Trump was the first to take his seat. Carney came over and bent down to speak to him. Costa then came over and sat next to Trump to speak with him.
All of the leaders sat. Trump, Macron and the other leaders chatted about the World Cup. Trump brought up his UFC event at the White House and complimented Dana White to the world leaders at the table.
Egyptian President El-Sisi then entered and came over to shake Trump’s hand. Trump got up and spoke to him. Macron joined in.
Macron asked all of the leaders to look at the cameras for a photo op, but Trump remained facing the side, seemingly unaware of the photo op.
The chair next to Trump’s belonging to UK PM Starmer remained empty.
Press was then escorted out. Your travel pool is back at the summit media center.
•Next up should be the bilateral meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates if things go according to schedule.
