President Trump briefly took questions in the Oval Office after signing a presidential memo on “right to repair” secondary market auto parts. More info on this coming out shortly from White House.
POTUS discussed the housing bill, the SAVE America Act, the Senate parliamentarian, SCOTUS rulings and recent victories of Democratic socialist candidates in New York.
On SCOTUS mail-in ballot ruling: POTUS says it was “a little bit surprising, gives people more time to vote illegally.” He reiterates that today’s ruling makes the passage of the SAVE America Act more important for him.
On Housing bill: POTUS said he has not yet received the bipartisan housing bill, but called it a “a yawn” compared to the SAVE America Act.
“Compared to the SAVE America Act, just about everything is a big yawn.”
Asked about his plans for the housing bill: “I don’t know. I think it’s so unimportant compared to the Save America Act…the housing bill is a bill that can get through. They worked on it long and hard. It’s very bipartisan. That means the Democrats like it. I think, it’s maybe, probably more that way they’re getting things I wouldn’t necessarily agree to.” (exact wording here)
On Senate parliamentarian: POTUS reups his calls for Senate Majority Leader John Thune to fire Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough: “I can’t imagine why you keep a woman that was put there by Harry Reid and Barack Hussein Obama. The leader has a right to fire the person at will and put somebody else there… we get so many negative rulings from her.
On far-left Dem wins: “It’s the biggest threat to our nation there is, maybe since our founding. That includes World War 1, World War 2, September 11, it includes the Pearl Harbor attack… it’s basically introducing communism into the United States of America. There’s never been anything so dangerous.”
