He opened oil markets worldwide with Operation Project Freedom and 7 million barrels a day flowing freely. Russia is no longer protecting Iran. China is no longer getting cheap Iranian oil.
When you have true competition across the globe — you cannot dictate prices anymore. The price drops. It's called the free market. OPEC's power to control global energy prices is finished.
