The Epoch Times @EpochTimes - Former CIA Director John Brennan has filed a lawsuit seeking a court order to force the Trump administration to preserve records tied to investigations of him.
The suit targets probes into his role in the 2016 Russian election interference inquiry and statements he made to Congress. Brennan claims these efforts are vindictive and aimed at punishing the president's perceived adversaries.
His legal team named President Donald Trump, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, and others as defendants.
The lawsuit highlights two main investigations and warns that evidence like emails and texts may not be kept as required by law. It cites the Presidential Records Act and Federal Records Act as obligations for preservation.
Brennan's team argues this is needed to protect his rights and support any future challenges to selective or vindictive prosecution.
A Justice Department spokesperson called it rich for Brennan to accuse others of a retribution campaign. The filing references a prior House Judiciary Committee criminal referral over Brennan's alleged false statements about the Steele dossier and the intelligence assessment.
Brennan had previously accused the administration of judge shopping in another matter.

This comes after they DELETED a post that sparked mass outrage
"A social media post created by a city department falsely stated that City Hall would raise the Somalian flag in recognition of Somali Independence Day. While the City recognizes and respects the aspirations of people around the world to live in freedom, this post was inaccurate and has been deleted." β€” per Columbus Dispatch
