>>187851Eagle Ed Martin @EagleEdMartin - 501C3 reform needed!
Non profit racket like USAID.
Quote:
Eithan Haim MD @EithanDHaimMD - Every day I drive 20 minutes past cow fields and RV parks to work at a "rural" county hospital.
@AlexBerenson just exposed that NY Presbyterian - in Manhattan’s Upper East Side - classifies itself as "rural" too, scamming Medicare for larger reimbursements.
This is a travesty. Rural status keeps small-town hospitals alive: fewest resources, sickest patients, and massive uncompensated costs from illegals (20-40% of patients on any given day).
Margins are razor-thin, exec pay modest (mostly low six figures, some higher).
Meanwhile, NY Presby rakes in $11B+ revenue, pays its CEO $22M, and funds a massive complex of DEI programs, NGOs, and a gender clinic for kids.
The issue is not the massive profit margin itself but that big city giants are scamming a program that is essential for the rural hospitals that actually need it.
Hopefully someone in DC can do something about it but I won't hold my breath.
