The Stop Insider Trading Act does exactly what it says. This legislation bans Members of Congress from purchasing individual stocks from publicly traded companies, helps prevent public officials from profiting from inside information, and ensures that voters must show a valid ID when they go to the polls to vote. Despite these commonsense measures enjoying supermajority support among the American people, Democrats overwhelmingly voted against this legislation.
