Pool is now staged near the cargo door of the C-17 which has brought transfer cases containing remains of the four fallen service members to Dover.
Two Sprinter cargo vans (called “transfer vehicles”) are waiting to our right, with a “carry team” of Army soldiers in dress uniforms (with white gloves) standing by next to the vans.
Directly across from pool is a group of what an Air Force public affairs officer called “distinguished visitors,” with many appearing to be high-ranking Army and at least one very senior Navy CPO in dress blues.
POTUS is visible as he waits in his armored Escalade to the right of the C-17 cargo ramp.
Pool has spotted Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Senator Chris Coons (D-Del) among that group. Your pooler was referred to Office of the Secretary of Defense’s protocol office after asking for a list of “DVs.”
