Thune filed cloture on proceeding to House-passed bipartisan legislation to support early childhood teachers, setting a vote for next week with 60 votes needed. House passed the Supporting Early-Childhood Educators’ Deductions (SEED) Act by Rep. Jimmy Panetta (D-CA) by vote voice in April allowing preschool teachers and other early childhood educators to get a tax deduction to be reimbursed for the money they spend out of their own pockets for classroom supplies.
