This is me in 2023, in front of one I was selling in Dallas, TX.
$7 chicken Caesar salad. Under two minutes in the drive thru.
I got back in my car thinking these would be on every corner in America.
Then the cost of food and labor climbed, and the menu prices climbed with it.
Cheap was the whole reason people pulled in. Take that away and you have a salad nobody is in a hurry to buy.
But they kept opening stores anyway.
The one I sold is already a Rita's Italian Ice. Small building, drive thru, good corner. There will be plenty of operators happy to take these boxes.
I wanted this one to work. A healthy drive thru under $10 should exist.
Someone will get it right. My guess is they do it with five stores before they try a hundred.
