Always have. Always will.
You live in a steel box the size of a floating city, or on a hot ramp in 118 degree heat, or flying a piece of metal while bad guys shoot at you. 18-hour days, missed birthdays, Christmas, and the birth of your kid… and sometimes the chow line is serving mystery meat instead of steak.
A few sailors on the Abraham Lincoln are complaining about no fresh food and “pushing their limits.”
News flash: that’s called being on deployment.
I’ve been there. Most of us who wore the uniform have. You bitch, you grind, you keep the ship running, and you trust the Navy is moving heaven and earth to keep you fed and the mission going.
Because it is.
The ones who think every hard day is a conspiracy need to remember: this isn’t summer camp. It’s the United States Navy.
