Midterm elections are about voter base turnout. The GOP needs more of their base to turnout than Dems. Simple.
I’ve heard GOP Senators say that the base cares more about affordability than the SAVE America Act. Maybe. But, unless Congress massively cuts spending, not much they can do for affordability. Too late.
Unless the Senate has a magic wand to take prices back to the late 2000s, voters won’t be impressed. “Affordability” is an excuse.
And the base CLEARLY cares a lot about SAVE America. More than that, they care to see that Congress is actually doing something substantial.
