Supporting these bills will strengthen Buy American principles, protect consumers, and ensure products grown and harvested here at home receive a fair shake:
▪️H.R. 9154, the SHRIMP Act of 2026, would direct federal agencies to develop portable chemical testing technology that can identify shrimp’s country of origin and help prevent foreign producers from evading import rules.
▪️H.R. 2071, the Save Our Shrimpers Act, would prevent funding distributed through international financial institutions from supporting foreign shrimp farming, processing, or export projects that place eastern North Carolina watermen at a competitive disadvantage.
▪️H.R. 2715, the Destruction of Hazardous Imports Act, would authorize the Food and Drug Administration to destroy imported products that pose a significant public health risk, protecting American consumers from unsafe foreign goods.
