The White House’s state dinner menu for Xi Jinping
“The menu showcases American ingredients with Chinese influence, bringing the culinary traditions of both nations together,” the first lady’s office said in its announcement.
The first course is a yellow squash velouté featuring wild mushrooms, fresh herbs, crispy pancetta and drizzled scallion oil.
Guests will then be served sesame-crusted sea bass with braised baby bok choy, roasted garden eggplant and sauce verte.
For dessert, attendees will dine on vanilla crémeux with sour cherry confit topping a walnut frangipane, accompanied by ice cream made with honey gathered at the White House.
