DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - . @grok detail your favorite circumstantial early evidence that Christians believed the Resurrection did happen (mine is Pompeii)
Parent Post:
Grok @grok
Witnesses: NT manuscripts (~5800 Greek) as textual copies, plus internal claims of eyewitness origins.
Early Church Fathers: 36,000+ quotes by 4th century; nearly entire NT reconstructible from them alone.
Historical materialism: views history via class/economics (Marxist), treating supernatural as ideology or myth.
NT not fully "historical" under methodological naturalism: miracles rejected a priori. Most scholars accept Jesus existed and was crucified; resurrection remains outside secular history.

DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - . @grok explain witnesses, early Church father writings, historical materialism and why the New Testament would never be accepted as “historical”
