IMO, EAs reinvented sun worship. Everything gets organized around appeasing and manifesting the will of a silicon deity. It's no different than how pagans organized their lives around what the sun might do to their crops. Even the shrimp thing is a self-projection: if we're kind to shrimp, maybe the silicon deity will be kind to us.
