Attorney General Todd Blanche @AGToddBlanche - Video: In just one year, Memphis is on its way to becoming the safest city in America, thanks to @POTUS. So far, more than 13,000 arrests have been made, including nearly 1,500 known gang members, and more than 2,200 illegal firearms have been taken out of the hands of criminals and off the streets.
These are historic results delivered by the Memphis Safe Task Force through strong multi-agency coordination. Our commitment to reducing violent crime, removing dangerous weapons, and making Memphis neighborhoods safer isn’t slowing down.

Attorney General Todd Blanche @AGToddBlanche - May KSP Trooper Hayden Phillips rest in peace. We are extremely grateful for his service on the frontlines protecting communities across Kentucky. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and colleagues. The Justice Department will always stand with and support our law enforcement partners, especially in moments of unimaginable loss.
Quoted Post:
US Attorney Kyle Bumgarner @USAttyBumgarner
Yesterday was a somber day for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. We lost one of our own, KSP Trooper Hayden Phillips, to a senseless and cowardly act of violence while Hayden was valiantly serving all of us. Hayden leaves behind a wife and three beautiful boys who will forever bear the pain of this loss.
But, as tragedies often do, yesterday also provided an opportunity to see the very best of our people.
Within minutes of receiving the call that a trooper had been shot, the Bowling Green Police Department and Warren County Sheriff’s Office were on scene to assist the men and women of KSP. They were soon joined by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Commonwealth’s Attorneys Office, ATF, FBI, the U.S. Marshals Service, and Kentucky Attorney General, and many, many others who immediately got to work.
Through statewide coordination among federal, state, and local agencies, we identified a suspect and tracked his movement as he headed north toward Louisville. The Elizabethtown Police Department played a critical role in locating the suspect, while Louisville Metro Police Department and other agencies closed in, stopped his vehicle, and apprehended him.
He will now face the full weight of the law, whether in state or federal court.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky will not rest until there is justice for Trooper Phillips.
Rest easy, Hayden. We are forever indebted to you.
