DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - I agree we should go back to a single voting day. In the meantime, there’s a pretty clear correlation between how transparent a state is about early voting, and how Republican said state leans. Parent Post: CaptainTLB60 @CaptainTLB60 My problem is that there’s so much wrong with early voting, I don’t know where to begin with the criticism. If we got rid of mail and ballots and went back to a combination of a.) In-person, election day voting, b.) Absentee ballot for people who can’t be there, and c.) 1-2 days max of early voting, just to recognize the fact that some people who didn’t anticipate an absentee ballot, can’t be there on election day, we would eliminate so many problems. One of the issues with states that have long early voting cycles, is that news events which impact the candidates viability (like debates, for example) happen within that window so that early voters sometimes miss the opportunity to have that data (remember the Hunter Biden laptop story for example?). https://x.com/DataRepublican/status/2108713652660408626
